On Wednesday, one YouTuber told his 1 million followers to go to MAL, register an account if necessary, and vote Ishukozu Reviewers a 10. Another YouTuber with 1.4 million followers has now jumped on the bandwagon and told his followers to do the same. Will this be fixed? Yes. MyAnimeList will not tolerate vote brigading. When will it be fixed? Before this incident, the new scoring algorithm created to combat vote manipulation by duplicate accounts was already slated for mid-February. A method to combat vote brigading will now be included as well. Please see Kineta's post for more information. How will you fix it? Please wait for Kineta's announcement. |

Wow, never seen an anime forum requiring a moderation like this. This whole thing has really created a huge fuss and lost control quickly. I understand it though, I'm pretty sure almost 100 threads were created in just 2 days. |

Personally I think this whole thing is a big mess. I think the people blindly giving this 10/10 are ruining the scoring system and I think that's rather frustrating, and people saying they're giving it 10/10 because its genuinely good baffles me given the show was only at ~7.7 before this, why didn't you give it 10/10 then? Rate it what you think it should be, not just 10/10 because lol funny when you think its 8/10. However I think the people taking this way too seriously are overexaggerating. It's obviously just fun and its not that deep. If you're really bothered it does seem like this issue will be sorted soon. Basically stop taking it too far, on both sides. Personally I'm just watching it all happen and its like whatever. I think there's more important things to fuss about than an anime's rating on some anime rating site. |

Unpopular Popular opinion:[?] Ishuzoku Reviews is a great show and is just what we needed to kick off the new decade with in 2020! A daring new Ecchi that pushes the limits in very creative and imaginative ways. The show stands at a 10/10 in my book as of epside 4. It keeps getting better and I hope it continues on this glorious path! It may not have reached #1 on MAL ratings but for many of us this show is already #1 in our hearts! I have much love and respect for this show. This is one to be remembered for the ages, boys and girls! (And non-binary) |

I voted it 10/10 (deserved, imo, I laugh my ass off with this series) as soon as I saw the first ep, which I watched when I saw a SJW campaign in reddit asking for its cancellation. When funimation actually cancelled it, Nux came up with the idea of asking people to bump it as a protest against SJW and Sony's SJWing, and then Lost Pause also made a video on this. People are rightly concerned that legitimate 10 scores may get nuked by this new "algorithm". In addition, the anti-brigading of this show far outnumbers the anti-brigading of FMA:B. Interspecies Reviewers has about 40% of the 1 scores compared to FMA:B, but has about 7% of the votes. What that tells me is that FMA:B fanboys are triggered and salty, while most people in on the Interspecies Reviewers vote brigade aren't going out of their way to give FMA:B a 1. |

The fun is over. This really takes me back. For now, adios. P.S I only did it because i wanted to do something about it. Since my foot is not deep into industry. I figure, why not have some fun and start some chaos. I understand its television but after all the things we've seen in anime, I thought people would have been okay with it. I've told my friends, if it was a hentai it would be very generic and boring. But since it was just an anime, and being in the same timeline as helck, it was very original. I would have been depressed because i figure no one cared, but i'm actually happy that this all happened. Yeah i was angry but i'm happy that there are alot of people who actually cared about this series. Even if the accounts were fake, even if people did it for the lols and for lord Nux; there is one thing i can see from all of this. You can censor or cancel art. I know the non-anime show\movies that have a message of feminism are shown and aren't that any good. But it's not cancel or removed. So why does interspecies reviewer get the chance of being removed? Where does the line stand for what is and what isn't okay to watch? Well, i'm supporting the streaming service that we have here in america. I know. Shit Country. But before 2016, i was pirating back in the day and i had a loot of stuff. I felt rich. But when i got a job, it didn't make sense to pirate when i could support the creator. Now it doesn't seem that with streaming service like crunchyroll and funanimation. My hard earn money is not worth spending on a service that does shady things. Good bye MAL, I will sail the high seas and once again. Pirate the shit out of anime. I kept asking myself when will monster musume get a season 2 but after seeing this response. I don't think you guys deserve a season 2. For now, read the manga. At least there is still some freedom of expression. Goodbye and i will stay odd for the rest of my lifetime. |

at least, it was fun to watch the world burn for a few hours. though, you should fix something else too : the fact that you can post a review for an anime after watching only 1 episode of a series instead of the whole show or season of a show. like wtf, it's even worse than the 0-bombing/10-bombing. how is it useful to read a review of a series that's not even finished to begin with ? I mean there's some exceptions like "one piece" or "meitantei conan", but how useful it is for members of MAL to watch reviews of only 1 episode of a show ? how are you supposed to say that for example madoka is good after only 1 episode ? same for school days. even the "3 episodes law" doesn't work, as shows like Steins;Gate really begin high after only half of the series. 3/4 of the reviews written on MAL are actually just useless garbage just because the reviewers didn't wait to watch the whole series before giving an opinion on it. don't get me wrong, I have nothing against those reviewers, but this shouldn't be allowed. you should seriously think about fixing that too. also, to fix the scores, you have multiple ways : - lower the weight of a score if the account is young, for a least the first months, and possibly do the opposite when the account is older. - lower/higher the weight of a score depending of how many anime he has actually seen. I mean, someone who just discovered anime will probably give shows like naruto a 10/10 just because he knows only that. - lower/higher the weight of a score depending of the variance of his scores. basically a guy that only gives 1/10 and 10/10 will have their scores extremely lowered compared to people who give scores that respect more the average law distribution. you add those 3 systerms together and you ban bot accounts, and then you'll get a better score system. |

You know I am both subscribe to Nux and Nobel, and regardless what they say I would not go vote something up just because they say so, I gave it a 10/10 for to me it is a 10/10. Also if you think about it it was the other side of the spectrum that started it by vote booming the anime to an abysmal score which it does not deserve in my personal opinion. It is a good show, its funny as hell and the whole idea of it is just genius. People who bash those who give it a high score by calling them virgins and telling them to go watch porn and so forth somehow forget that MAL does allow you to rate Hentai to for it is anime to, and I wish most will accept this fact. I really wish the site grows by the thousands of new weebs that came to put a vote to their guilty pleasure anime this year for I really like the idea of this site. What i do not like is the idea of a Social Justice Gestapo that tell people they are wrong when it is their personal chioce if they want to vote something up or not. Just think about it: someone has to go to a third party site, register on the site and then go vote for something. That takes a lot of effort and most people will not go through this effort if they did not hold the anime in question in high regard. |

Since the first wave a bunch of other youtubers have also spoken out about this telling their fans to give it a 10/10 or at least encouraging their users to give a high score. what will you do about all of that? and if the anime has enough legit reviews to keep itself in the top 10/50 will you let it sit there or not? |

Nice 👏🏻 I'm usually not one to play the party pooper, bur things have seriously gotten out of hand. Sad that it had to come this far. Aside from all the trouble that was caused, Reviewers is legit a great series and it surely would've been able to climb the ranks and get the attention it deserves thanks to it's own merits. True, it's infamous now, but it came with a lot of damage. Well anyways, hopefully the situation will calm down now. |

But in general I think the most important changes should be to make accounts made in the last month or two carry little to no weight in scoring in order to dissuade account spamming, and also accounts that have not been logged into for a long time should carry little to no weight as well (since evidentially those people don't seem to care about the site anymore anyway, and also any leftover throwaway spam accounts will be nullified) |

ElChOrC said: Please delete duplicate accounts voting 1/10 and 10/10 on IR and FMA, from both sides. Thanks You highlighted a problem that is above the current one: how to extinguish scores manipulators from people who sincerely, based on their own rating system, voted for ANY anime using the highest or the lowest score? Is an argument of "being inspired by somebody" and "doing so massively" even valid? It might open a way for other complaints and accusations of users being manipulative just because they sincerely (if they did, of course) and utterly didn't like/liked one show. |

So it took a day for mods to realize that these dozens of threads about score were going out of control. Since the website is free, we should probably not complain. Nice to see something being done otherwise. |
