| I got a Free! vibe from the cover art, summary, and pv, and after episode 1, I saw that I was spot on! I love Free! so much, and I also love water and sailor girls. I love Free! because of the characters, and if it weren't for them, Free! would be really boring. I sensed that Haifuri would also be character based rather than story based. Bonding with characters is a big part of enjoying a story for me. I didn't expect Haifuri to have a single interesting event. The second half of episode 1 was quite the predicament! I just know myself, and I know I'll love this series! |
| That was a pretty good episode. I'm loving the character art A LOT. Way more then I expected. .. Shiro pretty much became my favorite the first few seconds she showed up lol. Also, idk if it was just me, but seeing Middle schoolers managing and taking out a ship seemed kind of silly. Still loved the real feel to it though. The way the story is going is reminding me a lot of Aoki Hagane, which makes this all the more interesting. Another thing I love about this type of girl shows is that they usually have super catchy Music. The ending for this one made my spam list. (I see ZAQ on the staff list, so I know I'll be loving the OP too..) |

| Well Well...this turned into quite a dramatic turn in the second half....i like it ..a very good start. Just like everybody else, the lack of promotion and real footage lead me to believe that this was just going to be some slife of life show set in a marine academy. not onyl does this have actualy ships but ship to ship combat? im fucking sold.... I love Naval Anime series but they are so rare... the last real naval series was Arppegio and that aired over three years ago. I do not count Kancolle cause well.....that is not a real navy series. It is going to take me a while to get used to the girls being the center focus as crewmen but if the naval warfare and tactics and the seriousness of the story remains as it had in the second half...this good be very good. This should get a little higher marks on mal...man Mal users never give a navy series enough credit...but the japanese do...and this is already a big hit there from the forum posts..so yeah. good job :D |

I guess it's because the Moe crowd usually doesn't go for that show. But I loved it! And this felt way more like that than it did GuP or anything else. Especially not Kancolle, and I deeply, DEEPLY, hope it doesn't resemble Kancolle in the slighest. Because that show gave us something "serious" only to completely go the other way until the end. It'd be nice if we got something like GG though. A nice balance between serious and CGDCT. I am one of those who loved the first half though. I mean, the second part is what makes it so it's sitting at the AotS spot right now, but I still really liked it before then. Just, Anne Happy definitely beat it out on the CGDCT setup. I really hope they keep this up! |

| Well, I'm sure hooked… but clearly this is a series which will have to prove itself as it goes. I don't mind preposterous, even hammy girls-at-war stories if they're done well—Strike Witches, certain Takeshi Nogami manga, Kurogane Pukapuka-tai. I get that there are reasons (beside otaku appeal) to use WWII ship clones—naval and maritime schools have long used both old ships and new ships modelled on those of the past for training (most conspicuously sailing ships like the USCGC Eagle). And I can accept the idea of having complete newbies operate a vehicle a la Girls und Panzer. Still, it's something of a let-down in a alternate-history/future setting for the ships to be so closely copied from old ones, rather than having their own interesting features and mixing the retro with the futuristic. Given that this is going down the WWII warship clone route, the girls' work ought to be at least a little more demanding (they need muscle, yet they're thinner than average anime girls) and dangerous (I'm talking about falling—cripes!). And more than a tank, a ship needs some cadre with experience—at sea on large vessels, working with her machinery, etc. (I guess there's the cat?). So this series could end up taking preposterousness a bit too far, we'll see. @-ShadowClaw- @vampko Yeah, there's so much more to naval anime and manga than the Kancolle anime, and actually, they make what I assume is a reference to Kaiji Kawaguchi's Chinmoku no Kantai! Given Takaaki Suzuki's hand in this, I expect a lot more shout-outs will appear (and have—the girls are clearly thematically named). |

| I was surprised the 1st half was OK, the 2nd was really good, and the cliffhanger at the end! If it ends up being 70% Naval warfare for the whole season im going to really enjoy this show. |

| I was expecting cute girls doing cute things. I got more World of Warship action in 24 minutes than I did the entire Kancolle anime. The orders, the naval speak, the surprisingly accurate depiction of Naval warfare (hear that one Kancolle?)... Then the instructor in that Independence-class LCS ship with a hidden agenda...what is the game? I'm keeping tabs on this series. |
| Wow I almost missed this show by taking the "blue mermaids" part of the description too literally. Thought it was just going to be school girls playing by the sea, the moe swimsuit anime. Girls Und Panzer x Kancolle, Sign Me Up! I really like how much they're flexing their technical prowess. |

| first it went moemoekyun, and then it went dark so fast. idk why but it was expected, especially when the instructor finished talking and had that "smile", i know stuff gonna happen. my heart still going dokidoki even now. idk, this kinda of setting is somehow too much for me :'< hope i can survive till the end :'< |
| i liked the first ep, was pretty crazy how things turned out though with the teacher attacking and then lying about what happened making me think now she's gonna make them all fight each other now but because of how it did end i am hooked in to wanting to watch more and more cause i wanna know why lol and here i was hoping this was gonna be a yuri series though i know its still there but wasnt expecting things to turn like it did anyway looking forward how this series turns out hoping it to be good in the long run |
